A task committee to ensure the safety of the 2024 election has been unveiled by the governor of Pennsylvania. (PART-2)

“This task force has been working together to develop and coordinate plans to combat this dangerous misinformation and continue providing all eligible voters with accurate, trusted election information,” said Shapiro-appointed Republican Schmidt.

Similar efforts were led by Shapiro as state attorney general until his 2022 election as governor. Former Democratic Gov. Tom Wolf created the Inter-Agency Election Preparedness and Security Workgroup in 2018. The new task force will expand on it.

Pennsylvania saw multiple electoral subversion efforts during and after the 2020 election.

They include litigation to discard significant amounts of absentee ballots, Trump allies' 2020 ballot audits and access ballots, and voting and elections equipment.

They also involve elections officials in various counties who doubt Trump's 2020 loss to Biden and initially refused to recognize their county's election results.

The task force cannot handle all issues. Pennsylvania's 2020 ballot counting delays, which prompted Trump and his allies to sue and spread conspiracy claims, have been ignored by the split Legislature.

The Legislature, which is controlled by Republicans in the Senate and in which Democrats hold a small majority in the House.

Despite the fact that there have been appeals for changes, has not been successful in speeding the counting of ballots scheduled for the month of November.
