During the 2024 NFL draft, LSU has two players who are considered to be elite prospects; nevertheless, the Scouting Combine is not likely to reveal the true magnitude of these players' potential.
As reported by Field Yates of ESPN, both LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels and wide receiver Malik Nabers made the decision to abstain from participating in the measures portion of the Combine. At LSU's Pro Day, which will take place on March 27, both are anticipated to be evaluated.
The Combine is a place where players have the option to take part in or abstain from participating in any activity they desire. When it comes to the majority of players, they are willing to do anything their teams ask of them because the majority of players are not guaranteed to be top picks.
On the other hand, Daniels and Nabers are aware that as a result of their accomplishments on the field during their time in college, they do not have a great deal to demonstrate at the Combine
They are free to wait until their Pro Day measurements if, for whatever reason, they believe that their Pro Day measurements will look a little more remarkable than their Combine measurements.
Whether it is Daniels and Nabers not getting measured, Caleb Williams not receiving medical examinations, or Marvin Harrison Jr. canceling his media appearance, it appears that there is a growing trend of top players realizing that they do not have to fulfill all of the requirements that are imposed upon them during the Combine. There is a possibility that a top prospect will choose not to participate in the Combine at some point in the future.
Some players, particularly exceptional athletes who have previously competed for smaller schools, may find that the Combine presents them with an excellent chance
It's possible that elite prospects are coming to the realization that they have more to lose than they have to gain by participating in every aspect of the Combine.
