Most of the 30,000 Palestinians murdered in the Israel-Hamas war are civilians. (Part-2)

“Hamas declared war on Israel on Oct. 7 and Israel had to respond,” said senior IDF reservist Aviv A. Oreg. “I think we've done much, much better within the framework of humanitarian issues than others did,” he said, comparing Israel to the U.S. in Afghanistan or the Western Allies in WWII. “I didn’t see safe zones in Dresden.

The U.S. considers Hamas a terrorist group, and most international law experts consider the Oct. 7 attack a war crime. In response, Human Rights Watch and senior U.N. officials accused Israel of violating international law. Israel denies Palestinian genocide in South Africa's ICJ complaint.

After the fighting began,  interviewed hundreds of Gazans who believe Israel wants to push them out so they may colonize Gaza like they are doing in the West Bank, another Palestinian enclave they hope will become a state.

Netanyahu denies this is government policy continuously. Some in his coalition, Israel's most right-wing ever, have said so.That and Israel's tenacity support Palestinian claims that this goes beyond Hamas.

“These deliberately random attacks say one thing to me — that this is really a plan to carry out collective punishment, which is a war crime,” said 62-year-old Palestinian filmmaker and rights campaigner Musheir El-Farra. “The world watches this crime.” British national spent six weeks in Gaza at the outset of the conflict and fled to England, claiming over 100 family members were slain. He remarked, “We are witnessing the destruction of anything and everything.” “They continue to destroy town after town, city after city.”

Palestinian civilians in Rafah can flee to southern Gaza but not the north, two Israeli officials told NBC News Monday. Gaza is one of the world's densest, thus many wonder where to move.

However, Buttu, a 2000s Palestine Liberation Organization official, claimed the U.S. gave Israel “the greenest of green lights” to assault Gaza, despite Biden and his colleagues' rising criticism. Biden hopes for a cease-fire on Monday next week. However, Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant promised to “continue fighting until the very last hostages return.”

“As someone whose heart is bleeding for my people, I would love to see a cease-fire,” El-Farra remarked. "But I don't want a cease-fire that gives people hope only to resume fighting in six weeks."
