NGC-Certified 1776 Continental Dollar in Dallas Heritage Auction
One of the coins that will be auctioned off at the Heritage Auction in Dallas on October 17-19 is a 1776 Continental Dollar that has been certified by the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation
This information was obtained from a press release that was issued by the company not too long ago.
According to the website, the amount of money that has been bid on has already topped $100,000 just two weeks before the sale.
The names of the colonies are arranged in a ring configuration on the reverse of the Continental Dollar
and the words "AMERICAN CONGRESS" and "WE ARE ONE" are placed in the middle of the denomination.
No one knows who minted these unusual coins, where they were minted, or why they were struck, despite the fact that numismatic specialists appear to be in agreement that they were minted in the late 18th century.
According to what is known, there are no formal documents that order them.
