Three men accused of disappearing U.S. sailing couple deported from St. Vincent.

Grenada's three men accused of kidnapping a U.S. couple's catamaran were deported from St. Vincent on Monday.

Trevon Robertson, a 19-year-old unemployed man; Abita Stanislaus, a 25-year-old farmer; and Ron Mitchell, a 30-year-old sailor, pleaded guilty to immigration charges in St. Vincent.

After escaping a Grenada police cell on Feb. 18, the men are suspected of stealing the catamaran with Ralph Hendry and Kathy Brandel. Police believe the pair was tossed overboard as the accused sailed to St. Vincent, where they were captured on Feb. 21. They have not been charged.

Authorities are investigating the couple's abandoned boat in St. Vincent, which showed signs of violence.

When they fled last month, Robertson, Stanislaus, and Mitchell were at Grenada's South Saint George Police Station. Saint Vincent and the Grenadines Police Superintendent Junior Simmons believes Brandel and Hendry are dead.

The research suggests Ralph Hendry and Kathy Brandel are dead, Simmons said in a video.

According to Royal Grenada Police Commissioner Don McKenzie, the three men fled jail and “commandeered” the couple's boat, Simplicity, north. Police stated the escapees boarded the boat near St. George, Grenada.

The charity Salty Dawg Sailing Association called Hendry and Brandel “veteran cruisers” who participated in last year's Caribbean Rally from Hampton, Virginia, to Antigua and expected to spend the winter in the eastern Caribbean.
