Why being overweight can manifest even when you appear to be in good health.

Several reasons can cause overweight even in healthy people:

Body Fat Distribution: Two people of the same weight and height may have different body fat distributions. Even if their body size is normal, some people may have excess visceral fat, which is more metabolically active and carries more health concerns.

There's a condition called "metabolically healthy obesity." These people may be overweight but have normal blood sugar, blood pressure, and cholesterol. However, obesity still poses long-term health hazards.

Even metabolically healthy obese people can acquire metabolic problems, cardiovascular disease, and other obesity-related health difficulties.

Fitness Level: Fitness affects health independent of weight. Overweight but fit people may have superior health markers than sedentary normal-weight people. Physical fitness can reduce the health risks of obesity, but not totally.

Genetic Factors: Genetics can affect weight gain and obesity-related health issues. Despite lifestyle choices, some people are genetically predisposed to obesity or fat storage in certain locations.

Obesity increases the risk of type 2 diabetes, heart disease, stroke, some malignancies, and musculoskeletal issues. These health concerns may not be immediately apparent, especially without symptoms, but can develop over time, even in healthy people.

While someone may appear healthy despite being overweight, it's important to consider body composition, metabolic health, fitness level, and genetic predispositions when assessing overall health and obesity-related complications.
